Esteemed Wahoos,
Thousands have rallied to show how UVA is thriving – so much so that we had to take out ads in The Richmond Times Dispatch, Virginian Pilot, Roanoke Times, Free Lance Star, and Daily Progress across the state to proudly list all of the names.

This was less than a week ago. We’re now over 4,300 signers and growing every hour. Wahoos4UVA also has a new 13-member Advisory Council that represents a broad cross-section of the UVA community. The reason is simple – under President Ryan’s leadership, by every objective measure, UVA is making extraordinary progress and further building its impressive reputation.
Together, we’re celebrating:
- A record-breaking $6 billion “Honor Our Future” campaign
- Hitting #1 in college free-speech rankings
- A 60% increase since 2018 in undergraduate applications
- The highest graduation rate of any public university
- Four new schools, institutions and research centers founded during President Ryan’s tenure
- 35 national championships, including five consecutive titles for women’s
- swimming and diving
And so much more...
Beyond these incredible achievements, our movement is also about something even bigger:
Standing together for truth, community, and the values that define us as Wahoos, and to preserve UVA’s independence.
These values are reflected in our new website.
Have you shared our new look with your friends and colleagues? We’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback as we continue to grow. Only together can we make sure UVA remains a beacon of excellence, truth, and unity for generations to come.
We thank you again for being part of this incredible effort.
Stay tuned – there will be more to come,
Ann Brown and Chris Ford
